It is obligatory for foreigners to have work permits in order to work in Turkey besides those who came to Turkey for Cultural Activities; Social Activities; Assembly, Maintenance, Repair, Training, Delivery, Acceptance of Machines and Equipments Imported to Turkey or Exported by Turkey; Exhibitions and Circuses; Internships and Tour Organizations (for only once per year). 

The applications for these work permits shall be submitted to Foreign Representative Offices of Turkish Republic in overseas and to the Turkish Ministry of Labor and Social Security in Turkey.  However the foreigners, whose residence permits for 6 months or more are not yet over, may directly apply to the Turkish Ministry of Labor and Social Security. Moreover, those, who are engineers, are required to have YÖK (Higher Education Council) diploma equivalency certificates.
